In Memoriam: Prof. Aude Vernhet (1965 – 2024)

A Dedicated Educator and Researcher

Prof. Aude Vernhet was a dedicated faculty member at L’Institut Agro Montpellier. She played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and research landscape. Her passion for viticulture and oenology, combined with her commitment to excellence, left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of learning from her. Prof. Vernhet was also an accomplished researcher, significantly contributing to the advancement of knowledge in oenology. She focused on various aspects of wine processing and its impact on wine quality and stability.

Expertise in Wine Processing

As the module coordinator for the Wine Processing module in the Vinifera Euromaster program, Prof. Vernhet shared her expertise in filtration, clarification, stabilization, and other critical wine processes. Her insightful teaching style and deep knowledge enriched the learning experience of countless students.

Students from batch P16, the last group taught by Prof. Vernhet in Vinifera, remember her fondly. Her legacy will live on through the knowledge and skills she shared with us. She was incredibly kind and supportive, helping us with our studies, practical work, and exam preparation. Rest in peace!
