Dr Marie-Stéphane Tixier has more than 19 years experience in research and higher education. She is curently Head of the Department Biology & Ecology at Montpellier SupAgro.
She obtained a PhD in 2000 and a HDR diploma in 2010. She is author of 88 scientific publications, 20 publications for professional journals, 80 oral congress communications and a web site containing on-line identification keys (https://www1.montpellier.inra.fr/CBGP/phytoseiidae/index.html).
She develops international and national collaborations, both with academic and professional partners. She is managing several research programs in taxonomy and biological control at European and national levels (i.e. Acarosol, Acarobiol, Biolycotom projects funded by Ecophyto plan in France) (https://www1.montpellier.inra.fr/CBGP/acarosol/).
Marie-Stéphane Tixier is involved in Plant protection teaching especially in arthropod pest control.
She coordinates the MOOC Nectar on “taxonomy of arthropods and nematodes for agriculture challenges”, several modules in crop protection at L3 and Master levels and she coordinates the bachelor “Productions Agricoles Intégrées et Enjeux Environnementaux”. She is involved in the European Erasmus + Master “Plant Health”.
She is in charge of international collaborations between Montpellier SupAgro and Brazilian universities.
Vinifera Teaching:
Within the viticulture module, she teaches on plant protection.
Research Interests: She is a world specialist in systematics of a predatory mite family (Acari: Phytoseiidae) and biological control. She develops research on diagnostic issues, phylogeny and evolution and the use of these predators in biologica control programs (including agroecological approaches).
