Markus Rienth, a notable alumnus of the Vinifera Master’s program, hails from a winemaker family in Germany. Before joining Vinifera, he completed a winemaking apprenticeship in Germany and earned a Bachelor’s in Viticulture and Enology from Geisenheim University. His extensive background includes work in Bordeaux, Champagne, South Africa, and an Erasmus semester in Bordeaux.
Graduating in 2013 with M2 studies in Universidad Politécnica De Madrid, Spain. Currently, Markus serves as a Professor and Head of the Department of Viticulture at Changins University, showcasing his commitment to advancing knowledge in the field. His research spans various critical areas, including climate change, alternatives to pesticides, plant electrophysiology, biostimulants, biodynamics, biodiversity, rootstocks, and disease-resistant cultivars.
