Marc Boldú Rius pursued a degree in Enology at Tarragona University, with a background deeply rooted in family vineyard practices, before joining Vinifera.
Graduating in 2023 after M2 studies in Instituto Superior D Agronomia, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, Marc’s master thesis, “Understanding the specific characteristics of sandy soils and their impact on vines, to optimize vine-growing practices,” demonstrates his commitment to advancing viticultural knowledge.
Currently serving as a Technical Viticulturist at Gramona, a family winery in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia specializing in long-aging sparkling wines and quality wines, Marc is actively involved in managing old vineyards and crafting personal wines in the DO Costers del Segre region.
Engaged in soil characterization and studying the soil-wine relationship, Marc’s research projects underscore his dedication to enhancing viticultural practices.
Reflecting on the impact of the Vinifera program on his career, Marc describes it as a highly positive experience. The diverse range of professors, colleagues from around the world, and visits to various wine regions made the Vinifera program special and exceptionally enriching.
