Buradan Vineyards & Winery, located in Çeşme, Turkey—approximately 60 kilometers west of İzmir—occupies a privileged position along the Aegean coast, directly across from the Greek island of Chios. The region is historically recognized as one of the ancient centers of viticulture and lies near the mythological birthplace of Dionysus.
Established twenty years ago, the estate cultivates three international grape varieties (Grenache, Merlot, and Tempranillo) as well as an indigenous white Muscat variety, Bornova Misketi. Buradan adheres to organic and sustainable farming principles in her agricultural practices. The property comprises of the vineyards, the winery, and an on-site restaurant, forming a fully integrated wine estate.
The raison d’être of the Buradan-Çeşme project is philanthropic. As a non-profit initiative, all revenues generated by the wine business are directed into a fund that provides scholarships for women pursuing higher education in wine and viticulture. This initiative is known as the Women in Wine Program of Buradan-Çeşme (WWP).
WWP was created to support and empower women to realize their full potential and to contribute meaningfully to the social and economic development of Turkey. Launched in 2022, the program provides comprehensive financial and personal support to women from modest socioeconomic backgrounds who seek to build careers in oenology and/or viticulture.
The full scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, meals, travel expenses, and a living allowance. In return, recipients are expected to maintain a high level of academic achievement and to work for a minimum of five years in their field upon returning to Turkey. During this period, they also serve as mentors to future scholarship holders, guiding them through the same journey they once undertook
The program has provided scholarship to two women since its commencement. The first completed her postgraduate studies in Piacenza, Italy, and the second is currently attending the Vinifera Euromaster Program in Montpellier, France.
