Michel COUDERC

Michel completed an engineering diploma from ENSAIA (Higher National School of Engineering for Agronomy and Food Science; Nancy, France).  He specialized in wine growing and oenology (general, technical, business and management, in ENSAM-SUPAGRO, Montpellier, France) and completed in parallel a DNO national oenology diploma (technical degree).

After diverse wine making experiences in Napa Valley and Languedoc-Roussillon he focused on the socio-economic as free-lance.  Then during 12 years as Economy & Studies manager for the Provence Wine Body (CIVP), he dealt with market information, including local & worldwide data, benchmarking, panel analysis and specific studies in order to build communication and decision tools for the CIVP with 4 millions € budget strategy, and for Provence professionals: 650 producers and 80 traders, and for the worldwide press, wine buyers and consumers.  He developed, among others, the Rosé Worldwide Observatory (http://www.oiv.int/public/medias/3102/focus-2015-les-vins-roses-fr.pdf).

He is engaged himself in research, thesis co-supervision, and publications…

He continues consulting activities and takes pleasure in teaching on related topics.

Vinifera Teaching: Mr Couderc teaches on the Rosés of Provence in the module ‘Economics for the Wine Industry’.

International Development:   Michel teaches in a number of Agronomic or Economic schools, in France or worldwide (english training).
