Dr S Guidoni

Dr Silvia Guidoni is Associate Professor in Viticulture at the University of Turin, Italy.

She graduated in Agricultural Sciences, with specialism in viticulture and enology and obtained a Ph.D. in Arboriculture & Pomology.  Since 2006, she has been Associate Professor at the Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Science, University of Turin, Italy.

Silvia has more than 20 years of teaching experience at the University of Turin. She teaches “Vineyard management” in the “Viticulture and Enology” degree program and “Vineyard Management, environment and ripening” in the “Viticulture and Enology Science” master. She is responsible for the Quality Program of the degree in Viticulture & Enology of her department.

Vinifera Teaching: Silvia teaches “Soil function and properties” in the Ecology & Physiology module.

Research Interests: Dr Guidoni works in cooperation with several research groups. She is co-author of more than 125 articles in national and international peer review journals.  He has also contributed to conference proceedings, books, and technical journals.

Her research activity focuses on Vitis vinifera cultivar and clone characterisation, vineyard management and grape quality, vineyard microclimate and its influences on grape ripening.  She also researches on vineyard management and its influences on secondary metabolites in grape (anthocyanins, in particular). In addition, she researches on vineyard management practices and soil characteristics, biodiversity expressions in vineyard, and ICT in precision/decision viticulture.
