Research Interests:  His research over the past 20 years has focused on understanding the role of nutrient and carbohydrate reserves in determining grapevine productivity, and then using this knowledge to develop improved vineyard management practices. Particular achievements during this period have been to demonstrate the importance of post-harvest vineyard management in hot climate production regions, and understanding the contribution of stored carbohydrates to seasonal yield fluctuations.
